Aren't we going until 10/8?  It was 6/30 for 100 days = 10/8....right??

Never mind, I answered my own question....we started 6/24 and end on 10/4.  I finally just figured out how to properly use the dates on the spreadsheet Laughing

Technically, October 1 is our last day.

Get the cameras ready!

Took yesterday off but last week was probably my strongest core week yet.

Well, it's officially over for those that started right away. I finished strong. I missed a handful of days throughout and always doubled up the next day, for at least 20 minutes, to catch up.

So...does anyone feel stronger from this?

I thought I was feeling stronger, and then I got back in the pool this week, and was like woah...my abs are killing me.  They don't look different, but I do feel stronger.

Most importantly, I've enjoyed getting to know you all through this challenge :)

Now, are we moving on to butts?

Cry  I can't believe it's over.  I'm so sad.  I don't know about butts.  I fear I would change the shape of my butt and I quite like the current shape.

Any other ideas?  I'd do a legs challenge.

Hmmm...I wonder what it's like to be completely happy with the shape of your butt.  I don't know if I've ever experienced that in my 39 years of living.  I think that's AWESOME Noelle.

OK, a couple of ideas--we could have it be a challenge potpourri, like the "hit your weakness challenge"--you name the thing you're gonna work on, you just report in to the group for accountability, playlist ideas, and general chit talk.

orrrr...

We could do a lower body challenge...

orrr...

uh, um, ideas???

Steve, I'm telling you right now, if we do butts, I'm not posting a pic, and I surely wouldn't expect anyone else to.  Now, if there were folks who were brave enough (coughNoellecough) to post butt pics, I would most definitely check them out

Okay, so let me clarify!!  My butt doesn't look like a model's butt by any means.  It just tends to lose a little of its roundness when I train it too much.  Weird, I know.  It doesn't get bigger, it gets smaller.  And I just don't want it smaller as in flatter.  It's hard for me to keep as much of the "athletic" look as I have now.

It's still a 40 year old female's butt....even though this female works out pretty hard it doesn't look like a 25 year old's butt by any means Tongue out

Switch, you are so full of poop....you started this ab challenge and it turns out your before pic was sick.  I bet your butt is just as good.  You're just WAY too humble!

I really like the idea of the lower body challenge.  That could be legs for some people, butts for others.  I can definitely add more leg exercise into my life, especially body weight stuff.

Hey all!!

Wow, so the challenge is over...  Congrats to everyone who took part, has been fun.  It was nice to check in and see everyone's progress and read everyone's workouts.  Thanks to Switch for starting this challenge, the motivation was a great thing!

Looks like I am about 3 weeks behind, I have some catching up to do, I will finish!!!

Had follow up with my doc on Monday, he says my elbow is healing well, it is feeling much better.  I probably could have started back with abs, NO PLANKS, on Monday, just lazy.  I will start tonight.

Definitely feel stronger in my abs!!!

Not sure about another challenge, I will keep an eye out.  Butt pic, not so much Embarassed

Thanks again everyone!!!!!!!!

LOL!

It can be a trick to maintain the um, roundness, with a lot of training.  Tru dat.

OK, so a lower body challenge then?

I kinda feel like a challenge .  Do you want to start it?

Guess who still kept doing his core tonight after his tempo run?

I'll try to get the after picture in the next day or two.

Switch, you're the challenge master.  You command the attention of BT'ers better than I so I will leave starting this new lower body challenge to you.  Maybe we start Monday to give ourselves a few days to round up the crew?  I am more than happy to "co-host" the thread with you if that helps!

I hope you all join us.....Brad?  Caffer, now that you're healing up--plus it is a lower body challenge so it should involve much less shoulder stuff.  Cban, if it's lower body and not just butts would join?  Adrienne, haven't already been discussing the growing of body parts this week?

Amy, right now, I think I will not be joining in. I have a couple things outside of training (a bike build, vacation with THE Wife, work, return of DD2 to the house) that are leaving me with a bit less time for training. Also, I am trying to figure out my plan for the winter, so some thought is being applied to actually figuring out how to go through the winter and get improvements in races next summer. I don't think that will include a lower body challenge.

However, if ya'll need a spreadsheet and someone to cheer you on (and look at butt pics), I'm here for ya!

OK...so a lower body challenge.  Hmmm....some thought required on this one.  My off-season starts next Saturday at 8:37:30 a.m. (when I hopefully cross the finish line after a 5K PR...).  I had planned to take a week off and then spend 6-8 weeks focusing on yoga.  Maybe lower body flexibility for me?

I'm not sure about a lower body challenge. I guess I'll have to see how you're going to define it before I commit. I plan on doing a lot of running over the winter, as that is my big triathlon weakness...some lower body work would fit in, but I don't want to totally drain my legs either.

Look guys, I can define it however we all decide it should be defined.  I was thinking about something that focused more on flexibility, mobility and imbalances anyway.  And "technically" I think core could still be lower body.  Maybe. Sort of.

Give me some input here...

You said the magic words: flexibility and imbalance!  Mobility's great too, but flexibility and muscular balance I lack big time.

Great idea.  Let me know how I can help get this off the ground!

I wonder about just doing a challenge where we are working to address things we define as "weaknesses" within our SBR. Then we can get feedback about whether our methods are the proper way of going about it?

Example: I will be doing specific strength exercise to address hip flexor and ITB "weakness/injury prevention"

This may be too broad, though.

I hope you all join us.....Brad?  Caffer, now that you're healing up--plus it is a lower body challenge so it should involve much less shoulder stuff.  Cban, if it's lower body and not just butts would join?  Adrienne, haven't already been discussing the growing of body parts this week?

I'm not sure about a lower body challenge. I guess I'll have to see how you're going to define it before I commit. I plan on doing a lot of running over the winter, as that is my big triathlon weakness...some lower body work would fit in, but I don't want to totally drain my legs either.

Look guys, I can define it however we all decide it should be defined.  I was thinking about something that focused more on flexibility, mobility and imbalances anyway.  And "technically" I think core could still be lower body.  Maybe. Sort of.

Give me some input here...

That's just way too long a thread title.

Top swimmers rotate the core of the body from one side to the other while keeping the head fixed. When you rotate in this way, you move through the water more like a fish, maximizing your efficiency.

A strong core will allow you to keep optimal body alignment for whatever you’re doing (swim, bike or run), and this in turn will reduce your fatigue in the long run.
