Im going out to nationals next weekend and just looked at the updated schedule. Transition opens at 5:30 and closes at 7:30. My wave doesnt go off until 9:30! Any tips or experience on what I should or should not do during a 2 hour wait until my wave goes off?

10:12 for me...

Interested in what people generally do as well. I guess my plan is to find some shade and relax!

yep. just make sure you dont take in too much liquid. a couple hours of sipping on water can make you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of your race.

That's plenty of time to panic :P

I did a race, sprint, where they were sending off 3 waves 3 minutes apart every hour, they did this to ensure that when first swimmer got out the water he would not run into people waiting to start.

The organizers' idea was to check in the bike one hour before the one's wave without getting in the way. Problem was that people didn't get that and those in with a late start lined up same time as those with an early start. I almost missed my start because of the queue.

Check if you have to check in early. If so, check if there is space for in water warmup that won't interfere with people racing, you can easily spend 30min+ getting in, warm up, get out, and get in line for the start, so then you only have one hour to kill.

Daydream inside the Calatrava Art Museum a few hundred yards down the shoreline.

You've already gotten some good advice.  I'm just here to say that I'm in the 7:30 wave.  Tongue out

Actually, maybe I can offer something useful.  Spend a chunk of the time sitting quietly visualizing every detail of your race from swim start to finish line.

8:48 start time for me.  They did mention in the video that we get moved into the swim practice area for 20 minutes before our wave goes off, so I guess that will give us some time killing activity.

For me, I'm just going to move around a little.  Try to chill some.  Chat with random triathletes.  Etc.

Weather forecast shows highs in the mid 70s for Saturday. Lows in the upper 50s for later in the week.  No rain on Saturday (Knocking on wood right now).

Should be wetsuit legal.

If you develop a strategy for the off-season, you can go into the next season stronger than you ended the past season.
