Swim
  • 05m 39s
  • 400 yards
  • 01m 25s / 100 yards
Comments:

Basic Swim - around the swim noodles - always makes me laugh. I do not think the swim is as far as they say, but did fairly well overall - could push a bit - but did not have same speed as years past
What would you do differently?:

Swim more for speed in training
Transition 1
  • 01m 58s
Comments:

Much better than one year when i forgot my helmet
Bike
  • 43m 38s
  • 16.5 miles
  • 22.65 mile/hr
Comments:

Not bad on pace - but defintely not my best. Considering how the year has gone, to still be over 22 I'll take. Fun little course - just roling in and out.
Transition 2
  • 00m 50s
Comments:

Did well here - got in and out. Could shave a few seconds, but still happy
Run
  • 25m 33s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 10s  min/mile
Comments:

Now here is where I suffered. I typically can go under 8 m/m pace. But I have not really worked on running that much so to just finish and have this pace is very acceptable. In the future I will focus more on some run speed
Post race
Warm down:

Normal - Talk and Eat, Watched my wife finish. She did very well

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not trained for speed in any of the three

My question is how do I train for the second Ironman race and continue to improve without "peaking" way too early, becoming stagnant or any of the other training bad words?
