I just signed up for this after my fun at Lory. Has anyone done it before? Anyone planning on racing?

I am planning on it being my only tri of the year (although if I don't start swimming, it might become a DU )

I've already signed up for the new mountain bike tri in fruita, but I may hit this one as well. Fruita was going to be my first off road. I earned a free entry working the race last year. The bear lame one may be a good test run though. I have run and biked out there several dozen times this summer. Nice park. I wish they would have a road tri out there.

Did it last year - my first ever tri. It was great fun. Still trying to work out the details to get down there Sunday. I am not ready either, but I am probably as ready as I will ever be. Should be a good "training workout" for the Fruita tri in October

...Now if they would just add a Clydesdale division......

Just signed up. Should be fun. Not excited about stretching the run from 2.6 miles last year to 4 this year. I am not too proud to walk.

Just got the email that it has been postponed due to heavy rains.  I had tapered this week and was hoping to kill this race (except the swim .  We'll see when it gets rescheduled...

Got the same thing. Hope is it not Sunday Sept 22. Guess that give me time to get some work in - no excuses (other than the same things that have been pre-empting workouts for the last 6 weeks)

I hope this rain stops! (Said from inside an evacuation zone but on a hill)

Looks like it is getting worse by Bear Creek

Yea saw the pictures he posted and the flooding in the park is crazy!  Oh well at least he is letting us race next year.  A little bummed though at the abrupt end of my season!

Was camping out at Bear Creek this weekend. The water is at crazy levels. Didn't get too close (didn't bring my bike or running shoes to the campground) but where the single track trail goes up Mt Carbon, there is water 1/2 mile south of that. With all of that though, Soda Lakes still extremely low (guess it doesn't get fed by Bear Creek at all. It will be weeks and more like months til some of those trails are ready (totally uneducated guess and I did not sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night

The XTERRA off-road triathlons consist of a lake swim, a mountain bike trail ride, and a trail run. I decided to try the AZ Xtreme Desert XTERRA Tri as my 1st off-road triathlon, and my 3rd tri ever.
