Winning relay pace last year was 6:41/mile. Three or four of you guys would have a good shot at a podium for the relay division.

I would love to join you guys on a team, but I'm afraid that everyone would have to run sub-6 miles to make up for my leg to win it.

If I wasn't signed up I would be in for sure. Get a group together so we can drink after.

I'm running the full. My goal is to finish since I've been very lazy recently.

I think Jon and I are out.  The added time for the marathon distance is cutting into other family plans we each had later in the morning.  I could pull it off at the half marathon distance/time, but not the full.  Next time I will be smart enough to sign up early.

I don't think you understand what I go through when KU is in the Final Four.  Pretty sure only Pete could replicate my weekend and still be able to perform on Sunday morning.  Probably set a PR.

Heck, I will probably go to the games which would make it virtually impossible.

Isnt that the whole point in Brew to Brew. I did look into tickets for Dallas. Going to be crazy expensive.

I'd be in for Brew to Brew, Fresno State won't make the final four, but they might upset KU in the first round, you never know.....

Just put me down as IN. Final 4 or not. Funny, I just watched late night on DVR with a neighbor last night. Gave me chills all over again.

So I went ahead and ran a half marathon this morning.  13.1 miles in 1:35:27 for a 7:17/mi average.  Took a route with some pretty tough hills.  I'll take it.  Now settling in on the couch for a day of college football on the big screen and Kona World Championships on the laptop.  And beer.

Good luck to all of you running the KC Full/half this weekend. Looks like a little chilly to start, but pretty much perfect conditions once you get moving.

It was a little cool but not bad once you got rolling. I went out easy and picked up the pace after the 3 mile Mark. Finished in 1:33:10.

Yeah, Pete smoked it. By my calcs, that's a 6:51 pace over the last 5.2 miles, he must have seen the boulevard truck near the finish line.

I was in bed sick Monday - Thursday, went to work Friday because I was conducting a webinar, tried to sleep Friday night between all the hacking. HTFU'd it to the race start. I was still in the porta-potty when the race started. The worst part was waiting in the gear check line for over an hour after the race. My though process there was to have dry clothes ready for after the race, D'oh!

I think I am going to sign up for the pilgrim pacer half. Wife is due 11/23 so Gobbler Grind is out. Anyone else doing this. I saw on the facebook page that they have over 400 for the half signed up. The trails may be a little crowded at the start.

I'm in . . . and will actually sign up this time!  Trail is only crowded if you are slow . . . and you aren't slow.

Nice job in the KC Marathon half, guys!  Pete, you must have followed your usual pre-race nutrition plan.

Anyone else besides Jayhox and I running the Pilgrim Pacer? The doctor told my wife the baby will be here within three weeks, so this will be my last race of the year.

Know that base training is not a component of training that is going to necessarily make you faster, but it will make you stronger and give you more endurance to last through the longer races.

Knowing where the fluids are, how they will fit on your bike, how much to reach for, and when to reach for it should be understood prior to ever setting foot on the course.

Your training schedule should be based completely on the hours you have available to train, not necessarily on the number of hours you "need" to train.

Fall's also the time to shop! In fact, now's the best time to retool some of your triathlon equipment for next year, right before the Christmas season begins to jack prices upward.
