Close to 0 over the weekend, but could use some snow. Looks like the over night temps are going to stay cold this week, so should be able to get a few points.

Pretty sure I may have frozen some vital body parts off this weekend at my 10k, but here is the points if I did it right

60min (1 pt temp + 4 pts wind) = 60(5) = 300pts

i'll have some back-dated workouts as well, I just need to look at my log/find otu weather

Got 46 mile ride in today - temps under 40 so since I am slow and needing to get back in shape, got 187 points. Now to figure out the rest of the month - thankfully there is weather underground

How do find out what the weather was a week or two ago? Is that what weather underground does?

Well, rainy here - that big storm - but it's in the 40s. So I went swimming today. Indoors.

Thank God winter is here, even if that makes me a little wrong in the head. It's a nice crisp day in the mid teens with winds to match, an inch of new powder on the ground, and beautiful clear skies overhead. I got out for a nice trail run, just me and the unmarked snow, God's creation can be very amazing and humbling at times. I have to get used to the cold again, my lungs were killing from the cold by the time I got home.

Should make for a nice commute to work and back later, unless I run out of time dealing with the few errands I have to run this afternoon. That 1.75 miles at 10 PM on a clear night is great for points and always a nice time to be outside alone with your thoughts.

I'm jealous of all the snow everyone else has.

Happy Thanksgiving! Ran the local informal turkey trot (26 deg F). Did it in 32:05. Goal is to do a 5k in <31 this year. So I have to shave 20s per mile. No problem, right?

I'm feeling a little under the weather with some kind of bug this week - took a day off work yesterday. Combine that with some warmer weather and I'm not expecting a lot of points this week.

But next week...
I'm going to Silver Star Mountain Resort for a week of cross country "XC Supercamp" skiing. I've never taken a cross country ski holiday but Silver Star has a great reputation and I'm pretty excited about this. The forecast at Silver Star calls for fresh snow on Sunday (my arrival day) with a cold front moving in from the north so there are definitely some points on the table.

4 hours of training at cross country ski camp today for 1200 points!
-6 Celsius
Light wind (it seemed stronger but the weather reports don't back me up on this)
Light snow all day

I have the same routine for the rest of the week and colder weather is on the way. Today was perfect xc ski weather and I'd prefer if it didn't get colder but I guess the crappitude points are a silver lining.

I haven't heard how air travel was affected but i'm glad I flew out of Calgary yesterday before the storm hit.

Wow - guess I better talk the boss into letting me do an Alaskan Bike Trianing Camp in January

Enjoy the great conditions!

This week there really can't be a better place anywhere in North America for a cross country skier to be than where I am right now. None of us "campers" can believe how lucky we are to have such great conditions and such high quality coaching. This resort is known for having lots of early snow but I think that this year is even snowier than usual. If there are other XC Ski fanatics doing this challenge, I strongly recommend the XC Supercamps at Silver Springs Mountain Resort in Sourthern BC. http://winter.skisilverstar.com/

This area typically has fairly mild temperatures but this winter is an exception. Around minus -15 Celsius all day today so I'm solidly in 5 points per minute territory.

I'd like to post some photos but that will be easier when I get home so the photos will come later.

We are in line for our first major snow of the year but I won't believe it until I see it - calling 6-8" Wednesday and that will get a good base down as long as it doesn't warm up - snowbike should be rolling out this weekend!

Sorry, more photos. Here are a few from my XC ski week. That's me in the first one - sort of a goofy looking picture but it's the only one that I'm in.

Wow Don! Those pictures look like a postcard.
Not enough snow to ski here yet. I think we have enough to get the snowshoes out.

Should warn everyone, I've hit my winter stride and this storm is making it great for the points. We haven't gotten the feet of snow other places have, but with winds in the upper teens and lower twenties and temps in the single digits, I'm lovin' it. Just got my new watch to replace the one that I had die while I was out last week, I had gotten water in it (not so waterproof anymore apparently) and then went for a run and had it freeze. Time will be a bit more accurate than looking at my cell when I leave the house and looking again when I get home. Have had to got to the nearest minute for the last week now.

6 of the last 7 mornings have been below zero. We could use a little of that 15" of snow though.
