Sunny
Total Time = 25m 2s
Overall Rank = 60/246
Age Group = 50-54
Age Group Rank = 2/11
Pre-race routine:

The race had a 9 a.m. start and was fairly close to home so I did my normal morning routine.
Event warmup:

It was a cool morning so I made sure I warmed up the legs with a about a half mile of jogging. Also threw in some dynamic stretches.

Comments:

I knew I needed to bank some time on the early portion of the race since it was flat/downhill. Did pretty well with a 7:53 mile 1 split. I gave a little back on the 2nd mile with a 8:06 split even though it was a pretty flat section. Mile 3 was a net uphill (slight) but I managed a 7:49 split.
What would you do differently?:

Well, I wish I could have squeezed another 3 seconds out of my time to go sub 25 minutes. I was pleased with my effort...I went as hard as I could. My heart rate data showed me in zone 4/5 the whole time.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around looking for a buddy that was racing too. Got something to drink and ate some bananas.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

more run base. I had PF this time last year. Started running in February but got sidelined 3 weeks with a calf injury at the end of May.
