Comments: Started out strong. Hella strong. Felt AWESOME. Had to hold myself back. Then, suddenly BOOM. Out of energy, incredibly thirsty, numb arms, cold and just felt awful all-over. No clue what happened. What would you do differently?: More fuel. I think this was a severe energy bonk with some dehydration. Drink more early on - even if not thirsty just grab a water/gatorade to help keep dehydration at bay. Also, have more fuels. 2x shot bloks was not enough. I think also doing longer training with further miles will be better for me. The sub-10 mile distances are easy for me now, so I think for future halves maybe train up to 15-16. I know I can do the distance, but I'd like it to be easy. Or perhaps just keeping up with 6-10 milers on weekends will help with that as well? Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: better training, not getting sick pre-race, better food day before (so much pooping), better fueling. Last updated: 2014-04-01 12:00 AM
