Comments:

My pace was very consistent. Usually I go out too hard and end up running my last two miles about 15-30 seconds slower than my overall pace. This time, my last two miles were the fastest. Could also be because there was more of a headwind on the first half of the course.
What would you do differently?:

Picked up the pace in the middle to make for a more miserable finish. I know that if I want to reach my marathon goalthat I am really going to have to suffer at the end of the race. I think I could have made the end a little harder on myself, but at the same time I was really dead at the end, so I don't know.
Post race
Warm down:

None. Oops

Event comments:

Overall: 32/5358
Performance: Good
Course: One loop course around Green Bay that finishes with a lap around Lambeau Field. Course was hillier than I thought and there was a decent head wind. A couple of the hills were pretty tough coupled with the wind. Pretty fun course.

I just finished the NYC marathon on Sunday and I think I'm going to venture into triathlons. I am doing an Olympic distance and I want to do a 70.3 next year too. Any advice?

I just ran the Boston Marathon under nine minute miles, can I run eight minute miles for my half Ironman training runs? Or should I go slower?

I just started doing tris this summer and I have two under my belt, both sprints. Is it reasonable to build up for a Oly in early ‘09, with a HIM in Oct of ‘09

Having three seasons under my belt I thought I knew what I was doing. That all changed with a few new challenges and a bunch of new friends.

This program should be used for an athlete whose goal is to run a marathon in the 1:30-2:30 range and has a good running base in the past 8-12 weeks.

I will assume you have not run consistently more than 6 miles and have never completed a half-marathon. I believe running your first half-marathon is a big task which requires dedication and work.

My training was taking off. I had never felt stronger. I was making bigger strides than I ever had. I was stronger and faster than I had imagined myself ever being.
