Subject: Best way to sabotage your opponent's race?

I think the best place/chance to do some hardcore sabotaging is in the transition area.

I think removal of seatpost and saddle is effective.

I am open to more ideas....

Like my race last weekend....unzip someone's wetsuit while swimming...really slows you down.

I think getting in their head works too....make them doubt their training, their fitness and play with their mental status.

you know, removing the seatpost/saddle could backfire - what if they just get pissed off and decide to stand up and hammer?  I say take their pedals off.  not much you can do to over come that.

well due to a stupid mistake by me last year, I have found that body glide on the arm rests of aero bars takes about 20 minutes to wipe off. Now way to stay stable when wippng the goo from your forams

Maybe I'm just evil, but I've got several.

1. Salt water in their bike bottle.

2. LOTS of small rocks in their shoes for the bike, AND the run

3. Grease their handlebars

less obvious ones.

1. tighten their brakes so the just rub enough, but not too much.

2. Add weights to their rims, just throw them off a little.

I'm sure I hav more, but you know, wouldn't want to have the Mrs, keep her bike away from me.

Well if you are going there, just take about 20 lbs of tire pressure out of there bike after they have gone to the swim start. If you want to be realy nasy, take there inserts out of the shoes, both bike and sneakers Please do not make me realy put a lot of thought into this, I do not want to be blamed for all the mishaps

The more I think about it, the more I figure that I'll just do the swim and then go from there straight to the BBQ.  I'm gonna call it a "uno-athlon"!

Max,

Isn't that just typically called a "day at the beach?" Or a Swim and Lunch?

Hahaha...I like the "day at the beach" idea!  Hey, this is a fun race for me, I'm doing it mostly for the laughs and the fried chicken.

I bet cutting chains with bolt cutters will work after all who brings an extra chain. I also think swaping bikes from place to place would slow a person not to mention loosening all the hex nuts

Nah, Glen tried that when you guys came down for Hammerfest last year--didn't work too well

I bet dissolving some ExLax in their water bottles would do the trick though.

I swear someone got PAM on my rear bike wheel at Lake T last week. I can't figure out why else I would have almost wiped out at the first turn like that.

You know, if you hadn't swum so damn fast I may have been able to watch you go around that corner and could possibly have had some feedback for you. See what you get for being so fast...

want to slow the entire race down, instead of just your opponents? Try letting the race get behind a BT group ride in the spring. Ammazing how fast bikes can stop
