Pre-race routine:

I hadn't pre-registered this year. Had breakfast and then drove to the site. Parked on the pier and walked over to register. Was surprised to still get a shirt...
Event warmup:

No real warm-up - just walked back to the car and then back to start.
Run

Comments:

Ran surprisingly well this year. I wasn't sure what to expect. At least it wasn't ridiculously hot this year (like it's been the past couple of years!). My Garmin had the mileage a little short again. I think the course is really somewhere around 4.85-4.9 miles.
What would you do differently?:

Not much - train more?
Post race
Warm down:

Got a bottle of water, walked a little bit, stretched some and headed back to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

As usual, lack of training miles...

Event comments:

I do enjoy this race. They should separate the volunteer with the hose from the ones handing out water so you have the choice to avoid the hot hose water. Overall, it's a fun race on a holiday weekend at the Cape.

The XTERRA off-road triathlons consist of a lake swim, a mountain bike trail ride, and a trail run. I decided to try the AZ Xtreme Desert XTERRA Tri as my 1st off-road triathlon, and my 3rd tri ever.
