Swim
Comments: 1.2 mile swim, I felt pretty good in retrospect, but I swam 90% breast stroke 10% freestyle and I wish I did it reverse. What would you do differently?: Just go for it and not be afraid to swim freestyle. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: I felt great and had a lot of fun on the bike. What would you do differently?: Eat more! A lot more. Transition 2
Comments: Fairly smooth, with no major flaws. What would you do differently?: Have a quick bite to eat while exiting transition area. Run
Comments: I felt good until about mile 8. At that point, my legs ran out of strength/energy; my heart rate and breathing were fine, but I ran out of energy. I was VERY hungry from mile 8 to finish. What would you do differently?: Eat more on the bike to prevent the energy loss on the bike. Post race
Warm down: Stretch, and eat/drink. What limited your ability to perform faster: I didn't consume enough calories early in the race and it affected my run. Lesson learned. Event comments: This race was very well organized and supported. Plenty of aid stations, and post-race food. Great race! For my first halfiron and my third triathlon, I am satisified but I know that I have a lot of room for improvement. Last updated: 2004-07-13 12:00 AM

Woke-up at 0500 and ate some fruit and a bagel. Went to transition area and dried my bike off (dew) and set up my gear.
Easy warm-up swim and light stretch.
