8.5 mi 1:05 run today. I'm watching the live stream of Kona and seeing the pros swim is both amazing and a little depressing...

36 minute tempo run this morning. First run in my new pair of Saucony Type A6 racing flats. I also ordered a pair of Topo Tributes to hopefully replace my Saucony Virratas for everyday training. If they don't work out I'll probably go back to Kinvaras for training.

I missed a session today, because of an extra long workday and instead of doing a runch, I stayed at my office and signed up for Ironman Louisville 2016.
After the initial nausea from realizing what I just did I moved on to panic.

Guys - sorry for my absence. Been working on getting my rehab stretching in, not swimming enough, but still good on the bike. Working towards 5,000 miles for the year. That means I need to average right around 20 miles per day.

Jim - I saw that you signed up for IM Lou. Congrats! What is your plan for swim training?

I'm going to start with not drown. After that, I'm not sure. There I a school district nearby that has a pool. I emailed their swim coach to see what I can work out. It's about 30 minute drive and if he has kids that may qualify for State, he will do 6:00 A.M workouts for them, so they extra time in the pool.

Hola amigos, I just got back from a business trip to Delhi and Tokyo which was intense, but fun and got to visit the Taj in Agra for the 1st time (amazing)

I did two 7 mile runs in India which was hot and with bad air quality and 1 13 mile run in Tokyo around the Imperial Palace on a beautiful day.  I'm now exhausted from jet lag and extremely worried about IM Arizona which is just 1 month ahead. I have to figure out how to try to get as prepared as possible in the next couple of weeks.

Jim, congrats on signing up for your 1st IM Tri, very exciting!

adding 60min on the trainer, saw some decent gains setting new "bests" in 5, 10, 15,20, 30minutes. Looks like I need to do a FTP test to set a bench mark for training.

Your training plan is a guide but you don’t blindly follow it. You shouldn’t know exactly what you are going to do until the day you are to do it.
