Greetings BTers racing Vineman 70.3 this year! How's your peak phase in training going? We are about a month away from race day! Woohoo! :)

I'm still in the base phase for my Ironman build (Ironfit plan - IMAZ), so not expecting a PR at the race, but it should not kill me either.

I'm base phase training too for IMAZ but I'm putting in some solid training for running in the heat and aim to PR on the half marathon compared to my run during last year's race. I'm also building up my bike fitness and FTP to add to better running performance as well. The swim will be what it'll be, maybe the same as last year's. I'm hoping there's gonna be enough water this year seeing we're in a drought. >.<

I'm hoping we get a cool race day. Not looking forward to my 8:18 AM race start and the hot temperatures that Vineman can have in the afternoon.

I know what you mean. My start time last year was 7:54am and it was super hot by the time I got to the run. Super happy this year as my start time is now 6:48am, yay!

Looks like the highs for race day won't be in the 90s like last year. Let's hope the current predictions hold true!

Low 80's with some overcast skies, almost as perfect race weather as you can hope for in July.

I always look at the temps in Windsor instead of Guerneville, since I'm more worried about how hot it will be for the run than the bike.

Good point and it looks like it's gonna be a few degrees higher with a predicted high of 79°F.

How fast does the registration sell out? My bf and I want to register, but it would be a tragedy if one makes it in and the other doesn't. We'll both be poised w/ our credit cards right at opening on Nov 1st, but I heard rumors it sells out in minutes?!?

Back up plan is he does Full Vineman and I do Barb's Race on the same day, but since his back is still recovering a half is probably better.

This will be my 1st race out of my state, so I have never used a wetsuit Anybody know how the Russian River compares to Hawaii water temps? I mean I will wear one because I rather be safe than sorry, but just wondering what to expect. Mahalo

Sells out real fast. If you can't get in sign up for the waiting list and most likely you'll get in. Water temps are lower 70's and usually wetsuit legal.

It was the morning of Ironman Newfoundland 70.3, I felt queasy. I didn't want to eat or drink anything. I had a full blown case of the pre-race HEEBEE GEEBEES.
