Subject: RE: Resources for getting faster on the bike I can't say i've got scientific results yet, but it seems when I mix up my training and ride my road bike for one workout of the week it helps me and I feel stronger my next workout or race on the tri bike. My race this past weekend I felt much stronger on the tri bike. I can't remember getting the same results by just increasing the miles on my tri bike alone. No clue why but I'm going to experiment a bit more.
Some of the real experienced guys tell me about power meters, but that's a lot of money.
I do train religiously with a heart rate monitor.
Yes, I've worked on increasing my cadence as well. yes it helps to find my sweet spot at a higher candence. . i wish it were that simple. I think the course and knowing a bit more on how you might shift plan your gears helps too. At least it helps me mentally. Edited by JohnP_NY 2015-07-20 2:24 PM
