Friday - 8/20 - Walk - 34m 51s - 2.00 miles - 17m 25s /Mi
Slightly better than my usual 17:30 pace. It was all I had time/motivation for after a day of high school.

Saturday - 9/20 - Walk - 1h 19m 31s - 4.54 miles - 17m 30s /Mi
I set out to just have a nice leisurely stroll around the River Rd and wound up turning in my usual average pace. Guess I can't complain.

Sunday - 10/20 - Walk - 1h 18m 42s - 4.54 miles - 17m 20s /Mi
Tried to step it up a tiny bit, was kind of hoping to break 17m, but that didn't happen. Still, it is over 4.5 miles. Better than nothing. You may have noticed I have been focusing on walking this week. That's because I have registered for the SWmspt LL Turkey Trot on Sat the 21st. I would REALLY like to break the 17m mark that day.

First trainer session in quite some time today. 30' spin focusing on higher cadence.

RACE DAY - Little League 5k Turkey Trot
11/20 - Walk - 51m 01s - 3.10 miles - 16m 27s /Mi

ECSTATIC! Walked my first 5k race. Between making the mistake of starting all the way at the back of pack. Had difficulty finding my right earbud and finally had to ask the crossing guard to locate it for me. Had already started MMF and lost a little over a minute there. Then probably spent an extra 30 seconds negotiating my through the strollers, families, and slow walkers. Took me all the way across the Maynard Street bridge to work my way into the clear. Not only did I beat my usual 17:30 pace, I succeeded in setting a new PR pace that was even below 16:30.

I won't make my November challenge but not due to laziness, nor will I lose any significant time from injury. In fact, this limited down time should see me coming back even stronger than before. I hope to get at least 5 of the remaining 7 days

Saw the chiropractor today. My left hip had shifted upward, out of alignment. My right hip had rotated forward to compensate, resulting in further misalignment. Somehow this ended up making my right leg shorter and caused the limp I have had for years now. A series of re-alignments will erase this and will have me walking/running smoothly well before next season. But I will be sore today and probably tomorrow. So much for November's challenge. Yesterday's Turkey Trot success makes up for it though, in my mind.

Doh! Misalignments suck! I used to have a bad hip alignment and it's good you're taking care of it. Congrats on the Turkey Trot success!

I'm being lazy myself now, hehehe.

12/20...
I only have today and tomorrow, and possibly Monday, so it looks like it will be 15 for me this month.
Have a great Thanksgiving week!

I was making a good comeback, then I slipped on the stairs and ripped up my ankle. R.I.C.E  is not a loggable Next month will be better.

Okay, good work there everyone, especially Roland. Most of us came close. Now let's see if we can break that ceiling this month, DESPITE the holidays. Actually, I think that because of the holidays (and all of the food that goes with them) we are going to need this challenge even more than previous ones.

I'm curious about the 'don't increase your run by more than 10% per week' rule. Is there a minimum mileage under which this doesn't apply?

A quick and easy 20 minute at home strength training workout. This is a freeweight workout, so only a few dumbbells are needed.

Executing this full Ironman plan for 17 weeks would give people with one Ironman under their belts very good preparation for a 2nd and 3rd. Preferably, you should have a 6:30 or faster HIM time.

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.

How should I go about training for the marathon while also building base in the other two events? Doing this seems like it's causing me to break the 10% rule in running.

This Intermediate 20 week plan is a quick ramp up in overall volume, but with 20 weeks to train only, it is a gradual and safe approach because of the alternating weeks of the long run/bike.

Yes, the Dual is a little heavier than Cervèlo’s high end counterparts. But…the price is within reach of the masses and it still incorporates all of the design features that make a Cervèlo special.
