Pre-race routine:

Got up just after 4. Had half a bagel. Left just after 5. Ate a banana in the car. Stopped at Sheetz on the the way and we were still parked before 6. Waited in the car for a bit before heading to my corral. Did not rain until Tom left to go to the start and I entered my corral. Then rained for maybe 2 1/2 miles after the start. Was a perfect, not to hot day for a run!

Good run. Slightly hillier than I remembered and I think the new course had a few more. All in all, a good run for me!

I just started doing tris this summer and I have two under my belt, both sprints. Is it reasonable to build up for a Oly in early ‘09, with a HIM in Oct of ‘09

I will assume you have not run consistently more than 6 miles and have never completed a half-marathon. I believe running your first half-marathon is a big task which requires dedication and work.
 
This is, after all, Ironman.
