Subject: RE: kickr or snap? I have a powertap setup and I bought a Kickr Snap, not terribly happy with it. The power reads about 25 watts below my powertap. That'd be fine - if it was consistent. But it's not. The power builds on a curve, not linearly. Also if I hold the Snap at a steady reading of say, 200w in my small chainring, it is harder than doing 200w in the large chainring (and the powertap reads different on them). Finally, the Snap has a definite floor around the 80-100w range. If you need to ride less than that, too bad. Overall, because I have a powertap, I can still use the Snap for training and yes I like having a smart trainer for Zwift. But the accuracy is complete garbage and I honestly don't know how they can sell them like that. I've had it for awhile and there have been a few firmware updates but nothing I wrote above has changed. I believe the new Kickrs (not snap) are pretty good accuracy-wise, but I have not tested one myself. |
