Auburn, California
United States
Tahoe Peak Endurance
Sunny
Total Time = 7h 49m 18s
Overall Rank = 94/121
Age Group = 45-49
Age Group Rank = 6/10
Swim
  • 40m 9s
  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 54s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

Push a little harder (I think I was taking it a little too easy) and swim straight.
Transition 1
  • 03m 47s
Comments:

I never really have a problem with transitions.
Bike
  • 4h 19m 43s
  • 56 miles
  • 12.94 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

I would train more for hills. I would also bring my triathlon bike instead of my road bike. There were some nice descents where the people on tri bikes would just pull away from me.
Transition 2
  • 02m 48s
Run
  • 2h 42m 49s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 12m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

This should be called the "walk" segment for me.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

After talking with my coach after the race and explaining the issues I had, he said he thinks that my electrolytes got out of balance.

Event comments:

I would have to think twice before doing this race.

I just had a couple of problems, I could count the number of triathlons I had contested at zero. Secondly, I could count on one hand the number of times I had been swimming in the last 17 years.
