Pre-race routine:

Had some oatmeal and drove to the race site
Event warmup:

I am pretty pleased with this even tho I know in the grander scheme of running its extremely slow. Also I a was sick with a cold. We did a 5K about 6 weeks ago and that was my first run since my left knee revision ACLR. I was over 2 minutes faster so I am very happy and I was hoping to go sub 40 minutes. I did the first mile in 12:06 and its been a LONG long time since I have seen anything approaching that. I did this on a 4:1 run walk for the most part. David walked the course.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing I just need to run more. My brace was adjusted last week and rubbed the back of my leg raw but will get it fixed this weel

What limited your ability to perform faster:

5 major knee surgeries in less than 2 years. Seriously its a miracle I can run at all.

There's no scheme more grand than coming back from an injury and having a race you're happy with!

We have new 10 and 20 week training plans for the New Year! These mini sprint plans are very conservative and will get any person thinking of training for a triathlon ready to cross the finish-line.

Cotswold super sprint - UK. Lots of bodies colliding, I swam half over someone, got kicked by some bloody breaststroker, and as a mob we poured towards the first buoy.

Already a cyclist and not a bad swimmer, I figured all I had to do was build up to running a few miles and I’d be ready to go. The challenge invigorated me, and I ran out to buy new running shoes.
