I just recently qualified for the Boston Marathon and wanted to share my race recap with you guys. I failed my first attempt by 26 seconds then beat my time on this run by 10 minutes. I went from running an 8:45 min mile to a consistent sub 7 min mile in 2 years. I was fortunate enough to be interviewed by The Man Bun Run podcast about it. If you like podcasts take a listen if you have time.
Find it on iTunes/Apple Podcasts here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/man-bun-run/id1187550642?mt=2#ep... also search for "Man Bun Run" on Stitcher or Google play. Enjoy!

Nice work!  Sub 7:00 minute miles for a marathon is outstanding.

Wow, congrats! That's some amazing progress. I think many of us assume we are stuck with what speed we are now, and seeing that kind of massive improvement over two years is really inspiring.

Thank you. I go into that in the podcast but the biggest thing that helped me was consistently running 6 days a week for at least 30 min. I eventually went from running 20 MPW with a 5k PR of 21 minutes to over 70 MPW with a 5K pr of 18:30. I did a lot of structured speed workouts and an equal number of tempo and long runs. They are all important in my opinion.
