Welp,

Happy Thursday.

Hit the trainer for an hour this morning and if I can find a ride I will get in a swim later in the day.

Trainer intensity was good. Legs are starting to call out for rest...But not this week.

5:15 AM - 10-mile run in Zone 2 HR.

This was week 1's key long run for my new training cycle.  I have been doing Sprint Triathlon stuff the first half of this year and my long runs were about 9 miles.  I will be doing a 70.3 in Septemeber and my first full marathon in a decade two week after that so I will be building up to 2-1/2 hour runs.  I was ready to be done with this run after 45 minutes.  In a few weeks, these longer runs will fly by but building up to them feels like running in mud the first few weeks.

Have a great day BT!

4 miles this afternoon around 4 PM. Good for hear acclimatization. 93 degrees and high humidity.

I too am taking on a 70.3 in September. Augusta 70.3. Should be a scorcher.

Wow--our weather really is totally opposite everyone else. Cold front here--highs in 60's and very windy. I switched workouts since there is a lot of construction near where we live and the dust blows everywhere; makes me wheeze.

Thankful that they have finally fixed the pool heater and water is comfortable again. Swimming really isn't comfortable at present (PT claims it is some scar tissue behind my elbow pulling on the metal plate and I should just go ahead and swim easy anyway; eventually it will work itself out. Hmmm...) but cold somehow ratchets it up from feeling a bit sore and occasionally wondering if this is really a good idea to just wanting to stop RIGHT NOW. 1800 yards of swimming, marginally slower as not in the mini-wetsuit. Up to 1300 yards total of freestyle, the rest dolphin kick and breaststroke.

1:07 trainer ride later with 36 minutes of Z3 pickups.

Winds supposed to calm down tomorrow but still fairly cool so should be good running weather.

I’m jealous of those temps. The heat got to me today. I couldn’t keep my heart rate down. I did a harder session on the trainer yesterday so maybe I was still fatigued as well.
