What up is the Hizouse?

Morning all, had a great ride this morning. 27 miles of watching the sun come up. I live in a very nice area for riding!

Next up, plan for some planning and meet about said planning.

Hopefully going to the sprint car races tonight...My oldest son just loves it.

Have a super day!

5:15 AM - 11-mile / 90-min run.  This was a rest week.  Next week's long run will be a lot longer (16-miles?).  This run felt much better than the long runs have the past two weeks.  The rest week did its thing.  It also helped that it has been 10 deg F cooler this week than last week.  I was very happy with this morning's run.

Took a swim at lunch, 1600m straight through. Needed that little monkey off my back.

Hopefully find open water on the weekend.

1:10 of FTP intervals this morning (6 X 4 minutes at 92-110% with 2-minute recoveries. That hurt! Tons more intensity than I have been doing.) I have been doing fine with moderate stuff so suddenly it seems my coach thinks I'm in good shape for such stuff. Not. Followed by a pretty slow 20-minute brick run. It feels like I did a sprint tri, minus the swim.

Wow...That is a big step up. It sound like you are going to be back to a full work load soon.

Maybe for run and bike, not for swim LOL. I'm doing a half-marathon in September and then really want to focus on the bike, which has always been my weakness. Not planning any other fall events as starting a new job at the end of August. Hoping I can get back to outdoor riding before weather gets too cold for it. I have access to a nice rural MUP and smoother roads in Oregon (moving back in three weeks). And in winter, biking is something I can easily get in at home, morning or night, in any weather.

Right now my goal for swimming is just to wean myself off the fins. I am up to 4 X 100 without them within a 2200 yard workout. With them on (and the wetsuit), I've swum up to 900m in the lake with no break (2000m total). That is still a far cry from a race-legal half-iron swim, though!

30 minute zone 2 run. This low humidity is spoiling me. My zone 2 pace is nearly 15 seconds per mile faster when the humidity is under 60%.

Good luck with the move.
