They say that hindsight is 20/20. With 2020 going the way it is no one seems to have 2020 vision better than about 6 weeks into the future.    So what does that mean for training?  My original plan was to just swap out races for TT and stick with the plan.  Now I am looking or ways I could change my plans and instead of doing a 2-1/2 bike ride at an intensity factor of .82 I could pull out the mountain bike and do an easy 2-1/2 hour ride around the lake through the forest at an intensity factor of .53.

This morning I did my 60-minute run.  The pace was right where it needed to be for my race plan.  I am still wondering if I should plan for my race in June so I can do it as TT and as a milestone for my August race (which also would now be a TT) or just shut things down for a few months and enjoy the time off.

What is your 2020 Vision?

I no longer have a vision. Missed pretty much all of last year (racing, not training) due to injury, and kind of resigned at this point to no races this year. I just don't think things will be back to "normal" enough for people to race safely until there's a vaccine. Just trying to continue to build bike strength (because I can do it safely at home, and it's always been my weakness), work on strength/resilience (doing a lot of bodyweight and swim cord stuff) and run (because I love it).

Ya...I love running too.  My first two years in the sport i didn't do much running.   would go to races be in the top 50% on the swim, be in the top 25% on the bike, and be in the top 10% on the run.  So...I kept on cutting back the run volume to increase the bike volume or to focus on swimming.  I could do a 70.3 on about 15 miles of running  week and still be a top 10 runners.  Then one of my mentors offered some coaching and I worked with him and he took my run volume from 15 miles a week up to 30 miles a week.  At that point I started to make top 5% on the run and when my running improved my cycling started to hit the top 10%.  So I have stuck with more running.  It is more fun and I feel that focusing on my strength has helped with everything in the race. :-)
