At my second race, some high school kids were volunteering and I thought their comments were awesome... they would say "Let's go pink jersey," or "Come on, Miss red top!" encouraging specific people and looking directly at them. I thought that was way cool and inspiring - they're talking to ME!

I also like the other specific stuff, like when I crossed the finish line someone yelled "Nice kick, way to finish strong!"

When I volunteered at the chicago mary i would use: Find your rhythm, keep the rhythm, or push through it for people that looked to be struggling.

Probably the coolest encouragement Ive gotten durring a race was at the Houston marathon. The bibs had your name on it so as you ran past the "200,000" spectators alot of them would yell "Great job, Brooks" or "Looking strong, Brooks". It was just cool to have all these strancers cheering specifically for you!
