Total Time = 27m 55s
Overall Rank = 187/
Age Group =
Age Group Rank = 12/
Pre-race routine:

kashi and banana and coffee 2 hours before
Event warmup:

some mild stretches and agility/pluo typs stuff, then some fast walking just the way I do before a run workout
Run
  • 27m 55s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

pretty good race for me. It never hurt, but I was able to push a biit at times and feel how nice it feels to actually RUN. no knee pain, but definite tightness in both hips. I enjoyed the uphills, hated the downhills. managaed a speedy kick with 75 meters to go
What would you do differently?:

not bet the boys- they both beat me, now I owe them 30 bucks each :(
Post race
Warm down:

walked/stretched with boys, ate race food, came home

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of training, lack of experience, still tentative about knee/hip, BUT. I just realized it is a PR for this chapter of my life! (post college)

Event comments:

hmm. maybe I WILL one day like running. this just goes to show that you can train at a slow pace and still race well, that proper rest and slow building of mileage DO pay off.

Wow - you were fast!  Pretty impressive that the boys could beat that time!  You're out $60 but you're still a great role model.

HA! No, Renee, sadly, the seocond the gun went off they disappeared, never to be seen again until I was 100 yards from the finish, and they were laughing their a$$es off on the sidelines, already eating their ice creams and wearing their medals!

Great job!
I totally agree with you on the hills, love the ups, dread the downs!
Sounds like you had a great run.
