Swim
Comments: I feel like this went really well given that I hadn't swam in almost three years (2019 Asheville Triathlon). The actual swim time is registered as 6:09 on the results page, but that includes running down some stairs to the edge of the building. Happy I swam under 2:00/100 yards. Don't remember getting passed by anyone. Maybe passed one or two people. Felt like doing Burn Bootcamp really helped with the strength here. What would you do differently?: Swim more I guess to train, but I don't really get much faster. Transition 1
Comments: Time not taken for this on Setup. Don't remember much except that I was probably a little slow and took my time. What would you do differently?: Not worry about getting my sandals on to run to transition. Just go barefoot and deal with it. Bike
Comments: Passed an older triathlete after lap 1 but didn't build much ground from him. Felt pretty strong in general for not doing a tt for a while. The wind pushed a bit coming slightly up on the backside. Never got passed, but that was because most of the faster triathletes were done b/c I did Clydesdale. Time on setup includes first transition What would you do differently?: I could get Aero bars put on again, but I didn't care that much. Transition 2
Comments: Felt good at this transition but was getting hot, remember getting in and out pretty well. 2nd best transition for Clydesdale out of 11 What would you do differently?: Not much besides maybe jumping off bike at the end. Run
Comments: Felt extremely hot and pretty bad on this run. 1st mile was a bit of a struggle, but I got faster 2nd mile and was able to hold pace to the end. Definitely felt my weight but didn't feel sick. What would you do differently?: Weight and dump more water on my head. Post race
Warm down: Didn't do much. Just kind of walked around proud of myself. No real exercise. What limited your ability to perform faster: Weight and being able to cool down. Not having aero bars on bike. Event comments: This was a really fun race at UNC Wilmington's beautiful camps. Awards did take a long time to start, however, and there needed to be more drink stations on the run. I recall there only being one. No water at the turnaround. Still, really well-organized and sweet spot to chill. Last updated: 2022-07-28 12:00 AM

Got up early and left the beach house. Got there a little later than I wanted. The start was late because I was in the Clydesdale group. Took my time getting set up in transition. Transition never closed down, so actually wasn't pressed for time. I don't remember much from the night before. Writing this 4 months later on 7/28/22.
Did 1.19 mile run warmup at 9:15 mile pace. Could tell it was already hot. Walked around a bit trying to figure out where to drop my shoes or if I needed to do that at all. Mostly just kept calm.
