I've been getting this error message with increasing frequency

"This location has been restricted (1). Please contact our support department."

If I reload the page enough times, my post goes through. This is without changing locations or network settings. This happens from multiple physical locations on multiple networks.

Note that I was able to post about this issue in one tab while I am "restricted" from posting in another thread in different tab in the same browser.

Hi Janyne,
Are you in the United States? I know we have some regions blocked by IP address.
Are you using a VPN that might be telling us you are located somewhere in a blocked area?

I'm in North Carolina.  This happens both using my home network (AT&T fiber) and from the NC State University campus.  This happens on both my home computer and my work computer.

We've just refreshed the GeoIP database on BeginnerTri to the latest version. This massive database contains almost 3.5 million IP blocks with their associated country of origin, but it does need updating from time to time as IP allocations shuffle around. This should improve accuracy when determining a user's country.

We also noted you are accessing the site from an IPv6 address which previously wasn't supported, even though it's newer and more secure. We are now permitting all IPv6 posters to bypass the country spam blocks. If this leads to a giant increase in spam postings, we may need to revisit this decision.
