If a Dr ever tells you that you've only got 1 day to live. Jump on the treadmill, that day will feel like an eternity.

I think this about hill repeats (running or cycling). That 1' feels like forever and at the end you WANT to die (if done correctly!).

I'll add a 60 second plank to that list. Time sure does work differently when you're planking

Well, we won 3 times at 3 years interval 2015 , 2018 and 2021 and twice at 2 years interval 2021 and 2023.
So we will win 2025 to make it 3 times at 2 years interval and then 2026 and 2027, to make it 3 times in a row.
Can't argue with the maths....

(like I said to my husband before the 1st overtime of the 3rd semi final as the score was 2-2: we scored 1 goal in the 1st game, 2 goals in the 2nd game so we will score 3 goals in the 3rd. Can't argue with the maths. I was right, we did score the winning goal, unfortunately it was in the wrong net (unlucky bounce off our defender) )

Can't argue with that maths. TIme to head off to the bookies and bet the mortgage on next season

Hey, group.  Having a back flare-up (slipped while getting up out of a booth at a restaurant - not like fell down, just my left side gave out a little and shifted some stuff around) so no training today.  Yesterday was fine with a swim / bike double but I didn't want to push this morning with a tempo run.  Hopefully will clear out in a few days as it usually does.  I'm also getting some inflammation in my left elbow, which I felt first doing pulley curls on Friday (so I stopped) and then felt it stiffen up about 2K into my swim yesterday.  I'm falling apart people - 55 ain't 45!!  Another swim on the books tomorrow and if it starts bothering me I'll cut it short.

No no no. I thought we all agreed no more back issues. Hopefully its nothing, and you're good to go after a couple of days rest.

I had some random elbow swelling/pain this week too. Right elbow for me. Some anti-inflammatories and a bit of rest, 2 days later almost totally gone. 39 aint 29 either

4 hours of SBR so far this week, over the first 4 days.

50 minutes easy treadmill run Wednesday, and 60 minutes easy Zwift ride Thursday.

For the treadmill workout, I charged up the stryd pod and gave it a go again. Worked much better than on the old treadmill, the pace graph went up and down as it should. BUT, everything was 0.9-1km/hr slow. Every change I made to the treadmill was matched by zwift (footpod) but 1km/hr low. 7km/hr = 6km/hr, 8.3km/hr = 7.3km/hr etc.

Google says that lots of people report stryd under reading treadmills, so it looks like it's working properly, well as properly as it can. So I think I'll be sticking to RPE for now.

Have a good weekend BDAS'ers

It usually posts the photo if I write from a computer or a link from mobile device.

Anyway, great photo! You look great

I was hoping to wear Sweden's colours (spelled correctly ) a few years ago when the European championships were taking place 2 hours away from me.

All I had to do to qualify in my AG was to finish a race a few weeks before (they took 25 people in each AG and there was 19 spots left and 6 signed up for that race)

Unfortunately, the year was 2020.....

Oh No Mike, sorry to hear about your back, hope it's only a minor thing that will disappear with a few days' rest.

A good run intervals on Wednesday, followed by a good spin session yesterday . I guess I was still a little sick last week, hence the half arsed workouts.

Today I will take my electric bike to the shop at lunch time and run back (4 x 1k intervals at 5:15 min/k is the plan).

Tomorrow: 9 holes of golf, immediately followed by 15k run

Sunday: floorball in the morning (mobility training) and long ride (hopefully outside, weather permitting) in the afternoon.

I'm back baby!

I think the problem is that time just stops when you are planking. It is horrible!

Have you seen the world record for the plank? 4:30:11 for females (set in March by a 58yo) and 9:38:47 for males (can't find an age, but he isn't a spring chicken, based on photos). I can't even imagine.

It is very weird for me. This outfit violates two of my basic rules about international travel. 1.) don't advertise that you're American and 2.) don't wear anything that gives people personal information about yourself. Guess those go out the window!

Big training day today...started with 3350 yds in the pool today and will finish with 3 hours on the bike, probably on the trainer, since my wife left today for a weekend trip and my dog has already been home alone for too long! (yes...most pathetic excuse ever!!).

At least I have the Bombers game to watch (on delay--don't tell me who won!).

In between, I have a dead body being delivered to my office--anyone else have exciting plans for Friday? :D

Physically I could probably last a few minutes but mentally I have never made it past the minute, life is too short

I’m with you…what does one do/think about for 4 or 9 hours in a plank!?! I have a hard time with the trainer because it is so boring! Even when I have solid entertainment options I get bored because the workout itself isn’t requiring any thought. And don’t come at me with that Zwift is fun garbage…doesn’t do a thing for me.

Talking of Zwift, did you see they had the world indoors championships last week

pool swim
trainer bike
treadmill run

all on Zwift (well, not the swim)

They were all in the same room mind you so maybe it was not as boring as it sounds.
