Comments: Coming into the race, I liked where my speed was at, wasn't sure how I'd hold up over the distance given the abbreviated build. I'd say it went really well! Settled in nicely after the first couple of miles, and even sped up a bit as the race unfolded. Nutrition: Sipped high sodium drink from hotel to race, Clif Gel 45 min before start, TRS with salt tab 30-15 min before start, PF gel 5 min before start, PF gel at 30 min, Clif Gel at 1 hour, Maurten at 1:25 and 1:50, Gatorade Endurance at most aid stations, salt tab twice in first half. 5k splits: 19:44, 19:14, 19:09, 18:59, 19:01, 18:53, 19:44, 18:59 What would you do differently?: Nothing, incredible race. Post race
Warm down: Walked through the exit chute and into the post race party. Scored some free slides and metal engraving! Also got a massage/stretch at the PT tent. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Event comments: Amazing race, cool course. Super proud of this effort. Last updated: 2024-11-09 12:00 AM

Bagel and honey in the hotel, then walked to the train to the start. Made my way through security without much issue, plenty of time to check bag, go to the bathroom, and get my prerace nutrition down.
Little jog and a few drills in the corral.
