Run
Comments: I was happy to be running, so my slow pace doesn't bother me at all! I was supposed to be "partners" with my 10 year old, who promptly left me at the start...then one of my colleagues pulled up along side me and we ran the whole race together. It was so relaxing! If I ran with someone more often I might learn to like running! :) What would you do differently?: Given my recent back ailments, there isn't anything I would have changed. Post race
Warm down: Met up with my family, had some food & drink (lots of Vitamin Water - yum!), visited the sponsor tents. Found out my 10 year old (the one who left me at the start!) finished 3rd in his age group and got a medal! Also, my 7 year old ran a PR and actually finished a second ahead of her mom (along with Dad)! What limited your ability to perform faster: Back issues, the beginning of bronchitis (school nurse told me on Friday, "I don't think you should run." Do I listen?) Event comments: I love this race! It was my first ever and now I've done it three times. I'll keep coming back - plus, it's just minutes from home! Last updated: 2006-10-09 12:00 AM

This was a family race, so we had to get everyone up & fed. Nice to have it close to home!
After a rough week with my back, I needed extra stretching time and time to decide if I could actually run or if I'd be walking. I ran briefly and felt okay. As I came back, I saw Steve, so we warmed-up more together and talked. It was a nice way to relax my nerves.
