Comments:

The run went well. Mike and I ran together. He was having some difficulty with his calf so after we turned the corner at Mile 4 to come back down the gentle hill I pushed to catch a tri club member Mike knows. I thought he would go with me but he ended up not being able to hang on. I caught and passed the other tri club member at the 5 mile mark but was unable to catch any of the other runners ahead of me.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. I guess not have a race next weekend.
Post race
Warm down:

Had a 2 bottles of water, a banana and some peanut butter filled pretzels. I then ran/walked the 4 miles back to my house. Anything flat I ran, anything up or down hill I walked to try to stretch out my legs and minimize pounding.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Fast run training.

Event comments:

The race started about 10 minutes late or so which was a little bit of a bummer but it gave me a chance to find Mike in the crowd of people at the start line. The pre-race activities, the race and the post-race activities were all very well organized.

Good job breaking 7 minute miles. I was shooting for 46 minutes but ended up with a slightly disappointing 48 minute time.

Looks like you jammed on the downhill mile 5!

I didn't stay for the post-race. Just walked back to my car (parked at the start) and wondered how I can take it up a notch.

Cheers

Damn.   Sub 7 miles and a PB.  Looks like the incline at San Vicente didn't hurt you much.  Awesome race
