Total Time = 27m 22s
Overall Rank = 172/356
Age Group = 30-39
Age Group Rank = 14/27
Pre-race routine:

Got to race a little too early Picked up my number then went back to my car to listen to some tunes and stay warm
Event warmup:

Ran for 3-4 minutes to loosen up the muscles about 10 minutes before start time.
  • 27m 22s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 48s  min/mile

Started off closer to the front than I usually do. Got stuck behind a few people the first half mile which kept my pace in check for a little while. Once the crowd cleared up a bit I started passing quite a few people which I hardly ever do. Mile 2 at 8:35 is a personal record :)
After mile 2 a few of the people I passed started passing me again but I did end up passing more people than passed me. Still had enough in me for a strong sprint to the end. Shattered my PR by 2:17
What would you do differently?:

nothing PR by over 2 minutes :)
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed half a banana and a clif bar then headed home

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough running lately
My weight

Event comments:

Nice local race flat and fast course

Wow, a 2+ Minute PR in a 5k, that is absolutely amazing

You must really be doing something right in your training.

Looks like your pacing was spot on if you had enough gas in the tank at the end to pick off some roadkill at the end and sprint to the finish.

I suspect that you will be hitting the running calculators soon and re-adjusting your training paces.

Good On Ya

I think dropping 13 pounds since my last 5K might of had a little something to due with it and I will be adjusting my pacing with my half mary training starting this week.
