Hey just wondering who will be doing the Danskin race this year.  It was my very first tri last year and it was awesome.  Hope to see you all there.  Julie :)

It is a great race!! I completed it in 2004 and this year a bunch of women from the Summit YMCA are all doing it - probably about 100 of us!! Good luck!

I'm doing the 2007 Sandy Hook Danskin race too! I did it last year (it was my first tri as well) and LOVED the experience. This year, I've got my best friend, two aunts, and a family friend all signed up for it as well! Maybe we could arrange a meet-up for us BT's the weekend of the race?? (I'm not local to NJ, otherwise I'd suggest meeting up before that)

Good luck to all of you with your training

That reminds me, I should probably register if I'm going to go for it, eh?

Can I suggest a meetup away from the expo/hotel this year?  It was a little complicated last year, I was trying to juggle too many things   Not far or anything, just maybe on the boardwalk or at the juice bar or something.  (I'm still sore they moved my smoothie place, Be Green, from Belmar to Asbury!!

Hi everyone! I am excited to do the Danskin tri this year. I was there last year in a relay team; I was the bike leg...... It was so inspirational to see people doing their solo tri's that we all decided to do our own solo this year. I am excited, very nervous, apprehensive......

It's great to hear that some of you had used this race as your first, and are coming back for more. It'll be my 'tri premiere' as well this year. Who knows, maybe it'll hook me into doing more sprint tri's.

Hope everyone's keeping dry in this downpour weather.... the rainstorm woke me up twice last night! (I actually love the sound of rain so it wasn't so bad....)

Let me know when it gets closer.  I will get there early and will not have the kids this year so I should be the really relaxed looking gal.  I am so psyched that you all are doing the race.  It is awesome and I got really hooked after last year.  I am doing six sprints this year.  Danskin will be my last (unless I find one after).

marymosc13 give me a ring if you ever want to come up to Orange County and ride or run.  I drive past clifton every day on my way to the city.

Have a great weekend all.  Julie

I'm in again.  Sandy Hook was also my first tri when I did it last year.  It is an excellent race to do first - it's very low key.  JenO be careful.  I got the tri bug big time - I have 4 on my calendar this year!!!

Hey - I hear ya.... I got 'sucked in' to the running scene in Delaware, and am expecting the same for tri's. It certainly would be great for my waistline!!

the danskin has already closed registration for this year. may 7th.

sucks b/c some family members who my sis (mosc11) and i were trying to get in the race hadn't registered.

i might be wrong but that's earlier than other years, right?

yeah, bet you're glad you signed up when you did.

and i didn't register until late july last year. the race definitely filled up fast this year compared to last. carol can weigh in on this, but i wasn't too hopeful the family hold outs were going to sign up anyway. one b/c of distance and the other... its too complicated to try and explain

I was surprised as well that it sold out. I only did it as a relay team last year, and we had all (6 of us - 2 teams) decided to do our own tri at this race, this year. Well, I am the only one who signed up in time!! Which - I am really happy that I got in, but I won't have any of my former teammates racing with me!!

Unless.... the relays remain open for registration. Does anyone know if the relays are still available?

Just how many mosc's are there?  They seem to be coming out of the woodwork.  Great to have that awesome support team for you guys.  I will be going down some time Sat. morning, but from NY State (sorry Dinae).  My cell is 973-477-8586.  Call me when you guys get down there.

Mary - my swimming is coming along nicely.  I am going to drag you to tri camp next year.  It was so great.

Have a great day all!!  Julie
