You did not need one for the Monster tri in October so I would assume not.

No worries.  I promise I won't be sand bagging.  There will be a sizable contingent of the Metroplex BT'ers racing.  I know of 7 or 8 of us that are active that will be there.  The easiest one to spot will be Aaron(JeepFleeb)  Look for a tall super-thin guy with a beard, and a blond Lab puppy.  He'll be jockstrapping for us all.

I will be there jockstrapping as well... Looks like I will be on call and may have to bail at any minute.... So, I will be there and yelling up to that point..... So, my first tri will be the next month..

Can I ask a dumb question?  Do I need a swim cap for this race?

Very few pool swims require one. Did Iceman last year (put on by the same people) and they didn't require one. I'm used to swimming with one so I'll probably wear one anyway, but for the most part you only have to have a swim cap on OWS races.

Yeah, don't want to mess up that manly hair.... Or you could just do like I do and wear a permanent swim cap (a.k.a. BALD).

Swim cap...check!  Legs shaved....HELL NO!!!
By the way, I'm in too!  I predict a 1-2-3 BT Athena finish between Marcy, Shannon and Me!

A week away!!!

I know the Okie boys will be here early friday.  Anyone want to get together for dinner?  There are lots of choices out here...pasta of course.  Just let me know if you are interested!

Also...we would like to have an after race brunch at our house...nothing fancy eggs, bagels, coffee, juice etc.  All are welcome, just let me know so we can have enough stuff.  We're less than a mile from the transition area!

Hey guys,

I've been thinking about doing this one.  But, I have a question that has probably been asked already: With the time changing early, isn't it going to be dark on the 17th at 0700 for the 5k run and just barely sun up at 07:25 when the first swimmers hit T1?

I wish the start was 0800.  I already do most of my workouts in the dark.

You may be right Tommy.  The running trail isn't lighted but its pretty open.  whatever light there is should be enough to light the path.  looking forward to seeing you.

Tommy, You are so right.  it's 7:20 right now, and its very dark outside.   I have to imagine that they will push back the start 30 minutes or so.

I emailed the race director about the start time but still have not heard back. I would think they would move the time at least a half hour, if not a ful hour.

Not sure if they'll be able to change the time though. Think about all the planning they have to do for traffic on the bike course. Maybe they can change the time, maybe they can't. Guess we'll find out.

Good point, but would they not delay the race for fog/weather if it was dangerous? I believe they delayed it 45 minutes in Athens this weekend and to me riding a bike in the dark seems a little dangerous. I don't mind running in the dark but I have a hard enough time not wrecking when it is sunny out.
