Subject: 2nd annual Good Triday

Its a mixed bag as to who does or does not get off of work Friday before Easter these days, but it just seemed like a good idea to do a mini tri on Good Friday last year, so myself and Morey1 will be undertaking it again.  Sure it might get you off your plan and sure it doesnt make ya a badazz or anything like that- all it really proves is that you are up for mixing it up a bit and easily dazzled by gimmicky marketing ploy type names.  So who's in?

While yet to be discussed with Morey, I am hoping for a 4-7 mile run, 15-20 minute swim and then 45 minute spin class (sworn off until October but special Good Triday exception due to logistics)

Aren't we gonna have have to cut a swath through the ice for the swim?

Seriously, you got a special deal to get non-members into your health club?

I'll be there in spirit - I'm off and have planned

2000m wetsuit swim
40 minute moderate run
2.5hr bike
1hr ice skating with the wife.

A right full day.

I'm sure for $5 or $10 you can get a guest pass to where the cool kids work out.  Run will be outside from the club though, FYI.  We can check the guest policy if you're interested.

Regardless, you can participate in Good Triday virtually if you want.

I like this. I think I'll tri good triday too. I'll have to check my plan to see what I can fit in, I'll post here or in my Logs.

Good Triday is a Good Tridition.

If this catches on, next year you can produce T-shirts & collect small donations as a virtual "entry fee" for a charity (Easter Seals?)

Thats a great idea.  I will have to remeber to announce it earlier next year.  Actually props to morey for remembering.  I have a brain the size of a sliver.

I might do this just to catch up on my slack week.  Not that I'm off work.

Well, I was already going to do a ride and a run, why not add a swim?? Good Triday it is! The charity idea is great, too, so count me in if/when that gets going.

I just might have to do a little Good Triday action, too. I can probably get it in before I go to Good Friday Mass at 3 PM and I've planned to ride and swim tomorrow anyway. Why not throw in a run, too?

I think I'll be up for it!

I'm a little stiff from a crash on Tuesday and I have a criterium on Saturday, but I already have an easy ride planned with some other women friends and wanted to do a run anyway, so I'll just tack on a short swim. I've really been neglecting my swim and run the last couple of weeks.

...I'm going to have to pass. My coach will truly kill me if I change another thing on my schedule this month (with the changes I make I should probably pay him twice.lol). I have an hour run today and have to show up ready to play with the big boys and girls tomorrow for a frigid swim and hilly bike. I'd better be smart and save my legs.

Give us a little more notice next year and I'm definitely IN.

Have fun everyone.

Good Triday completed!!  I hoped for more on the run and I only did the sprint with a 2.8 mile run, 500 yard swim and 45 minute spin class.  Just fun to mix it up a bit!  Have fun kids.  Still plenty of time to do it!

I did my own version of a sprint today for Good Triday. We'll call it the long sprint/shin splint tri.

1000 meters in the pool
55 min spin class (endurance and isolated leg drills)
30 min on the elliptical (since I can't run yet)

Breakfast afterwards and now I'm hunkering down to finish my paper (due today).
