Pre-race routine:

I was going to do a short pre-race ride, but the traffic was so bad that I didn't get to. Bumped into my friend Travis and hung out with him stretching and what not until the race started. Also saw Tanya (standswithfist) before the race for a minute or so.

Event warmup:

Standing in the big corral listening to a ex-sundevil coach talk.

Comments:

Went out a little fast... first mile was 5:55. Eased up a little bit and ran about the same pace the rest of the way.

What would you do differently?:

Go out at my desired pace.

Post race

Warm down:

Bumped back into Travis. Grabbed a powerade and a banana. We watched to see a friend of his come in but there were so many people we did not notice. I then went for my bike ride.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Haven't been doing any speedwork. Noticed during the race that I have not really been running at that pace recently.

Event comments:

Nice to bump into a couple of BTers that I have trained with.
