Pre-race routine:

Dinner the evening before with Tom Plauche (Tplauche), Tony Hammett (Tribesman) and family/friends. It was great to meet other BT'rs. That morning, just liquids and got my transition area staked out and set up.

It was my first competitive open water swim and the freak factor set in early. My heart rate soared at the start and I never got it down. I credit it to my nerves due to first-race jitters.
