What non-binding agreements? And since when is it treasonous to express your views?

How does visiting and trying to make nice with Syria threaten our troops and undermine military action in Iraq or afghanistan?

Granted, she would never be prosecuted.  But I agree with this (from the cite you referenced): 

"The constitution grants the power to conduct foreign affairs (foreign policy) to the executive branch not the legislative branch. A fact finding mission is to investigate or uncover facts; it does not involve carring messages, makeing policy statements, or entering into discussions or negotiations without the permission or authority of the executive branch. "

What about the apparent fact (yeah I know) that she wasn't conducting US business, but moderating Syrian/Israeli issues? And also, why not call out the republicans doing the same thing?

Till I read about the republicans in this thead, I didn't know about them.  Yes, they are equally at fault.

So what if I go visit the president of Syria and say I want to help improve his opinion of AMericans.   Would that be treason?   What is treasonous about talking to someone of another country unless you are giving imformation that would harm the safety of the country or its people?

With a 2/3 majority, no?
