Pre-race routine:

Got up about 0530 after a crappy night at the luxurious Holiday Inn Hazlet NJ! This place is apparently not accustomed to people sleeping in their rooms. Any way to keep it short, it was loud and hard to sleep till we got relocated!
On the bright side I did answer my door in my underwear in front of 2 girls! Oops my bad.
Event warmup:

None really

Comments:

After my Philly marathon experience I was determined to not over do it and end up with the knee pain. Kept a decent pace throughout. I didn't get any real pain. But determined not to screw it up I stayed at that pace plannning on goint until about 3 miles left and then going for broke. Unfortunately I really didn't pay close enough attention to my time and picked it up too late. At the end, I was satisfied with the fact that I cut off around 20 minutes from Philly and that I really felt good. Watching the HRM was an important key to not over doing it.
What would you do differently?:

A little faster would not have been a problem and would have allowed me to beat the 4 hour mark. Next time I'll write pace times down on my hand so I can watch for the right pace not just HR.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around a bit, Hung around with Andy (prick beat me bad). I did see him eat a true foot long hot dog!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not paying close enough attention to time and pace

Event comments:

Good race, flat fast. Small race expo, not much going on at the site afterwards, started cleaning up the course an hour before the event was over.

whatever did you mean by: this place is apparently not accustomed to people sleeping in their rooms.

just kidding, sorry it made for a bad night's sleep.

great job on the marathon, cutting 20 minutes of a previous marathon is a huge accomplishment!

Well, the room and hotel were your standard Holiday Inn style however we were about 5 rooms from an 80th birthday party which went on till midnight. We could constantly hear music but everytime the door opened it got quite loud. That on top of the clanging of dishes and silverware while clearing dishes and you can see where this is going...Ultimately we were relocated to another part of the hotel.
