Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Sure thing ellasdad - I need a [healthy/achievable] goal weight for 9/20/07 (or another date if you wish) and I'll add you to the chart. The formulas will work so that you aren't penalized for joining late, since your percentages will be based on less than 90 days. |

New user 4 Denham Springs, LA | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Sorry guys and gals I didn't get my post in sooner. I had a really bad week at work. I am a cop and this week I have seen a 12 year old hit by a car and for the second time in my career I have had to hold a drown 2 year old in my arms. So as stressful as stress can be some times, I have not lost a thing. I am still at 214. On the ohter hand not gaining is great. I am looking forward to this week and great results. To everyone who lost weight, keep up the great work, and to all those including me that gained or didn't lose any, hang in there. We can all do this if we just keep up the support for one another. Have a great 4th of July all. LP327 - Ryan |

Veteran 157 Colorado Springs | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! I'd like to sign up if it's not too late! I am currently at 148 and would like to decrease to 142 by Sept 20 (just in time for my Half IM Sept 22nd). 2 pounds a month seems like it should be doable. I've been trying to lose these same pounds for over 2 years, this year I'm determined to finally do it!! |

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Welcome to week 2 of the new you!!! Everyone hang tough over the holiday this week... I'm struggling personally with the 4th celebrations, plus it is a taper week for me so I don't need as many calories. Special welcome to the new participants. Let me reiterate that joining late costs you nothing, because all of the calculations are based on the number of days in your goal (a column on my spreadsheet that is not visible). Anyway, there's no harm in joining late, either to you or the group. For week two I have sorted the results based on the what percentage of each person's goal s/he accomplished during week 1. Special congratulations to Barqhead, KathyG, and IMCDA08 for leading the pack there. I will try other sorts from time to time to highlight different people's accomplishments. I have also added a new column calculating the percentage of your original body weight you have lost... Enjoy:

Expert 2189 Dodge County, MN (out in the corn) | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Once again Josh, thanks for handling the data. That's not a job I could do. This week is going to be hard for me too. Not as much training, a holiday and my in-laws coming to visit. I'm going to the grocery tomorrow to stock up on fruits and veggies so we don't overeat while we're at home. One good thing is that there are not any restaurants close by, so we eat most of our meals at home. Other than that, I plan to eat lots of salad. Lots of salad. Pattie |

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Ellasdad - I had to chuckle at your first given reason (me neither). I'm not sure any triathlete is sane! Someone telling me I can't is sure to get me to try whatever it is they balked at. Go to the start of any race and we'll see all sizes and shapes... some people very overweight. Few extra pounds won't keep us from doing anything, just might slow us down a bit... but that's enough motivation for me to try to lose it. Pattie - you can do it! Just don't become a celery stick! |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Happy 4th of July everyone! Good luck with all of the treats and so forth! I know the toughest one for me is going to be the taste of a nice cold beer on a hot summer day. Going for a bike ride tonight - my first group ride, so I am hoping it goes well. Swimming in the a.m., so I should be able to afford to have at least a couple :-) |

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! I hear you lastcall... I did 4 sets of bicep curls at an impromptu happy hour last night... and it's a taper week for me so I can't just make up for it with extra training! Be strong[er than me] everyone. By the way, several have suggested, and I'm going to take them up on it, that we have a separate weekly weigh in thread... and this can be home base. Edited by JoshKaptur 2007-07-04 10:13 AM |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! How is everyone doing today on the 4th? Be strong...I read and heard it is the biggest beer day of the year. I slept in, rode 30 miles, ate a healthy lunch and now am going to take a nap Today I was 163.6 so officially back to 90 pounds lost...I'd really like to get to 159.? this month. I haven't been in the 150's since '84. I'm thinking about signing up for an IM for '08...IMLP is closest and in 15 days so I only have 16 days to decide. Yikes... Be well everyone...make good choices~

Member 11 | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! The good with the bad. I've been doing the whole weight loss thing for a while, so I try to curb my enthusiasm when I lose, just like I curb my disappointment I don't lose. It's the road getting there, so I'm good with reporting that I'm net 0 for this week(still 247). Actually considering how much I ate/drank on the 4th, I'm really happy with this number. Good luck to you all! j |

Today is the day I will ride my bike and force, and I mean force myself into 400m swim. One lap at a time. We all know what needs to be done. I'll do it or I'll not, my choice. YTou too. We can do this thing. See ya in ten pounds. |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Good morning 163.1, up .1 which considering the amount of enjoying i have done over the past few days, is great i am now ready to dig in - somehow having to report where one is at, makes me feel more accountable it's part of what makes programs like weight watchers work - people with common challenges sharing and supporting each other in success and challenges |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! good luck with your swim Alexander! One lap at a time is right - a friend of mine could barely swim 2 years ago and now he is training to do a 1/2 IM at the end of July You will be amazed at how much progress you can make, 1 lap at a time! :-) |

Regular 112 Delaware | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Weigh in: 172 lbs. lost 1 pound. Not much but I'll take it. Will have to be really careful in the next 2 weeks. DH is having surgery this week and will be in hospital a bit. Hospital is about 35 m away. I will be really tempted to eat fast food /comfort food next few weeks while juggling home, work and nursing DH when he gets home. I'm finding out at 48, just a little too much to eat adds up the pounds quickly.
