Run
Comments: My strategy was: run. That's pretty much what I did. I was passing people for the entire race, which felt nice. I also picked off every person I'd set off too...usually way before I was ready to stop following them. For not "racing", I'm surprised I'm only 20 seconds off my PR! I may have to find a new PR! What would you do differently?: nothing... this was a fun run! Post race
Warm down: Waited for Tom to come in, ate cookies, pet dogs. Hours later I finally checked the results and discovered I won my age group!! I'm so dissappointed that I didn't stick around for the awards I could just kick myself!! Event comments: For a first year race, I thought these folks did a great job. The course was actually really hilly but the finish was downhill and didn't play mind games, so you could absolutly race it if you wanted to. Pretty with lots of trees! Woke up super early, through on red/white/blue running gear and took off for Brighton. Checked in, got our t-shirts, drove out to the HS to park, then shuttled back to the start area.
Walked, ran around the cute downtown and mill pond area. Stared at the ducks. Got poured on waiting for the 1/2 marathon to start.
