Subject: RE: Ligament/Tendon Injuries- How to Prevent Nan - 2007-07-17 4:01 PM Current issues: Plantar fasciitus Tennis elbow and the latest- a nice case of crick in the neck that's lasted a week OK..plantar facisitis....inflammation of the fascia on the bottom of your foot (BTW that is neither a tendon or a ligament) Usually feels worse in the am or after you ahve been sitting for a long time. Question is why did you get it? New shoes? old shoes? Increased mileage too quickly? New training pattern? Or sometimes you geti t for no reason it all. Treatment is stretch stretch and then stretch some more. A night splint often helps. Heel cups or heel cushions also help. Tennis elbow is also called lateral epicondylitis. This is a tendinitis. Once again how did it happen? The neck same thing. How when where what. With all the over use injuries I would have to ask if you were increasing your training too quickly perhaps? SOmetimes training errors or bad form can be at the root of these types of things. If say the neck and elbow for instance are realted to swimming I may suggest getting a swim coach to look at your form. get treated for all the problems and try to figure out WHY they occured so they do not happen again.
