Swim
Comments: First open water swim of this length. Overall I was pleased. My start was a bit rough, but once I hit my pace, I settled in and most likely went a bit too quick. I was looking for a 38 minute time as this was my 2nd triathlon and 1st Oly distance race Transition 1
Comments: Still learning this transition thing. I used it to fuel up a bit and allow my heart rate to drop. I think that I could accomplish the same thing much quicker. Bike
Comments: Bike went well overall, there was a nice headwind for the first 8 miles of the race to a turning point which put the wind at our back for quite a while. All in all a good bike leg. I was expecting a bit higher pace (20.5), but hit a pothole and warped my rear wheel which I didn't notice until I went to unrack my bike after the race. pretty bad and rubbing on the break pretty hard on each revolution. Not a significant impact, but enough to slow me down. What would you do differently?: Push a bit harder out of T1 Transition 2
Comments: Again, used this to fuel up for my worst leg... running. Slowly moved out of the transition area and could have easily cut 2 minutes off. What would you do differently?: Push push push... Run
Comments: I am a really bad runner and wasn't looking forward to this leg. And my time shows. I pushed a bit out of transition but then relegated myself to a run walk cycle that got me to the finish. What would you do differently?: Much more focus on running in my training and get ready mentally for the discomfort that is inevitable in the run Post race
