Veteran 149 King George, VA | Subject: RE: Culpeper Sprint HAMMER the last 5 miles fosho! That's my plan anyway since I already know my run will be sucky. The course definitely has to be more than 15 miles judging by last year's times. Bike time was close 47". That's like 19.14 mph. At 16 mi, it's more like 20.43 mph. I thought for sure, the lead guys would be at be in the low 20s. |

Pro 4481 Reston | Subject: RE: Culpeper Sprint Re: bike course. I was not there last year, but did race in 05. The bike course that year went in the opposite direction. Tracing this year's out on the map it looks to be right around 16, maybe a bit more. |

No. The lake isn't open for swimming. The exception being by special permit (I don't know if they are actually called "special permits," but you get the point) that they obtain for these races. Although, once you start swimming and aren't able to see your hand in front of your face, you might wonder why you are swimming in the lake.
