Subject: RE: TREK 1500 vs GIANT TCR a1Definitely ride both....it comes down to personal fit and comfort. I, myself, just bought a GIANT Trinity A1. The compact frame is a must for me given that I have shorter legs than my torso. I had difficulty with the Trek because of the upper cross bar. I did like the combo of the alum. and titanium.
(I don't know this for a fact....I heard this from a coach/triathlete/salesman.......he said that most bike frames are made by GIANT and labelled for that company. i.e. Trek. I don't know that Trek's frames are in that group of companies that GIANT manufactures for our not. ) One of the reviews I read about the GIANT is that you get the Trinity A1 and do upgrades (all at once or when you can afford to.
For normal wear and tear, GIANT does stand behind their frames.....I was told not to get rid or sell my GIANT TCR 1 which I bought 4 years ago......I bought the bike for $2250..... the replacement frame equivalent only is $3000 plus according to the LBS owner.
Again.....ride them both and best of luck. You will know when you have found the right bike.
