Run
Comments: This was done completely on RPE. Didn't pay attention to time at all. My legs didn't feel great due to the long ride yesterday but they didn't feel too bad either. Once I got past the first mile I was ok. I wasn't here to race hard, this was a training run with a t-shirt. It was basically a pacing test. Saw my friend Brian around mile 12, he looked good. That was a boost. The plan was to maintain a steady pace for the first 10 miles and see how I felt for a push on the last 5k. Going by the splits, this was a success. What would you do differently?: Sleep in a bit later. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, ate a banana, 8 oz choc milk, bagel w/ cc. What limited your ability to perform faster: A 66 mile mile semi-hilly ride in the cold rain the day before. Event comments: This is a really good race. The folks at Yellowjacket Racing know what they're doing. As I've said before Boots, Ellen and their employees love what they do and it shows. The support from the city is great, lots of volunteers and spectators. The Rochester Police Dept. did an outstanding job managing road closures and traffic. Last updated: 2007-07-23 12:00 AM

Up at 5, had a banana and a coffee, got to the race site kind of early. Habit from triathlons I guess. Got my timing chip and went back to the car where it was warm, rested for a bit.
Walked to the starting line from Frontier Field. Didn't take the shuttle because it wasn't that far and it seemed like a good way to loosen up the legs. They were pretty stiff and sore from the ride yesterday so my expectations for the race were lowered somewhat.
