Pre-race routine:

Usual toast and peanut butter, one shot block 1/2 hour before race.
Event warmup:

1/4 mile or so of pace runs

Original plan was to run even 7 minute splits - once I saw the course, I realized that probably would not be happening - lots of rollers, and I can not hold a 7 minute pace in the hills.

So, I changed plan - didn't really even pay attention to my watch, just concentrated on trying to keep my heart rate under control - holding to kick it out last mile. My splits were 7:15, 7:42, and 7:30 - so I hit the splits pretty well - the middle mile was the "hilliest" so that is probably why is was a little slower.
What would you do differently?:

Actually did pretty well, considering I spent the summer working on long distance stuff, and then have pretty much coasted the last 2 months after my HIM on July 22. Only been averaging about 10-15 miles per week running.

Warm down:

Walking around, eating all the goodies, and winning a raffle prize!!!
