This is a little scarey to me. I am not sure what I am in for but I will committ to eight miles. Let me know what I am committing to. It sounds like eight miles ran or walked in the month of October. Let me know if I am correct!
I am coming off a dislocated shoulder injury and I am feeling a little timid on exercise goals. I have lost 20 plus pounds in the last couple of months by walking and biking (a little) When I say newbie I really mean newbie.
My confidence is waning as I read through your tough guy blogs. I am a baby at this. Thanks,
Cindy

Hey Cindy! Nothing to fear. I'm a newbie too. Looks like you're on my team "Things That Go Bump in the Night" and we're going to kick @$$! Come on over, intro yourself and meet some other really great and supportive newbies.

I don't understand how this works. Where is the 'Team' Section'? I am not seeing it. How do the team dynamics work?

Hi Cindy,

The team names were left on each persons training log in an insire me link.  If you don't already use the training logs, you'll want to get familar with using the log and looking at those messages.  It's easy and lots of fun.  We will help you along the way.

Here is a link to our team thread.

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=92190&posts=6&start=1

As far as team dyanmics go, I can only speak from the one challenge I completed.  What seems to happen is that as the challenge goes on the dynamics develop through the posts.  The posts will be a combination of encouragement and smack talk.  The smack talk is all meant in fun and as a form of encouragement.

Hope this answers some of the questions.  Like I said, your team will be here to support you.

It's all for fun!

Let's rock!

Hey cat,

I need to re-aquire my mental game. Last few weeks have been way too depressing, and need to get out of this gutter. Plus a friend of mine registered my for a Half Maraton in December in Las Vegas.

OK, please put me in for 60 miles. I just need to get that done. Thanks.

Is it to late to get in?  If not, put me down for 60 miles.

I need a challenge to keep me motivated after a couple of months of slothing around.

I dunno, Regimom and Zilla are pretty cute. Maybe the Gargoyles are for me. I'd be a proud Werewolf, too.

Count me in somewhere too, if there's still room!  Since I was third from DFL in the Mission Bay Tri run, I definitely need to improve my running.  Plus I'll be doing a 5k in Athens, Greece at the start of Nov. -- need to get ready for it!

Put me down for 30 miles.

Quick question tho -- do I get to count my walking as running, since I can't run full time yet?  If not, then the 30 should be more like 18 or 20...

Yeah I'm pretty excited about it!  My dad will be doing the 5k with me, then we'll spend 2 weeks sightseeing in Greece along with my mom.  They like to travel a lot, now that they're both retired.
