So, I know y'all are all pumped about Longhorn right now, and I am pumped for you...but due to circumstances WAY out of my control I can neither be there to compete or cheer (next year in Austin--that is my cry!)...but will cheer from here.

ANYHOW, just wanted to note for everyone that registration is up for LoneStar 2008--though I guess the 1/4 Iron registration doesn't start till 1 Nov from what the registration site says, so guess that will be one of the first things I do when I get home!

I am WAY excited about this race, especially as it seems to have a big BT crowd.  I don't even own a bike yet, but I will be there.  So, again, umm, a few months early, but just wanted to give an early shout out as people start to register....1 November continues to become a very important date to me!

Have a blast and tear it up at Longhorn y'all!

Not sure if I will be racing in 08 since IMAZ is 3 weeks from LoneStar, but I will be there cheering you on!  It was such a great race this year.  Can't wait to meet you and personally thank you for the sacrifices you are making for this counrty.  Stay safe and keep training!

Tri Mommy already booked the hotel last week at Moody Gardens for LoneStar next year.

I think the reason the 1/4 Iron registration is later is that Keith is still debating whether to hold it on Saturday (with the Sprint) or Sunday (with the HIM).

Yup, we'll be in Galveston next week, to finally determine what day we'll have the Quarter/Oly.....

I've got some great run course ideas, to make the run a little less twisty/turny, but need to see if Moody Gardens is good with it.

We'll definitely have the Quarter/Oly, but didn't want to open registration without having the day set

Awesome...I'm quite excited about it regardless of what day it is! November 1st is turning into a WAY important day for me...earliest date I can fly home from this place, sign up for Lonestar, and apparently sign up for Longhorn that day or I may be out of luck from reading some of the other threads!! I may be passing all my info to Mom and saying SIGN ME UP in case I'm on a plane home or something...after reading all the incredible posts on Longhorn (and Lonestar) and the race reports from this last weekend I ABSOLUTELY know I want to be at Longhorn next year...so, the sign up strategy begins! Thanks for all the posting Keith...being new to this I never expected so much "personal" involvement from RD's, other athletes, etc...all I can already say is WOW...I can't wait to see what racing in these events does to me!

Awesome! Thanks! So many posts from me folks, I know, I think I'm getting slightly giddy about coming back to the greatest state ever after 15 months in "this" place!   A month from today (Veteran's day weekend) I'm bike shopping in Austin...yippee!

I'm in for the sprint and the half IM and will do the same for Longhorn again next year. How could I pass up the chance to do two of Keith's races in one shot after how great Longhorn was?

I am in for the sprint, registration is complete!  I was registered for this one this year but due to equipment issues and lack of training, decided to bag this.  I am looking forward to this in '08.  Since I live only 30 miles from Galveston, it's too close not to play!  We will still probably stay on the island, it's easier and I will get to sleep a tad bit longer on race day.

Alright, now that Longhorn is over (SO fun!!), I can think about 2008, and I'm definitely hoping to do both Lonestar and Longhorn again.  I haven't really looked at how things are going to fit together for 2008, but the Endorfun races are definitely on the list!

I know I don't post much so you don't know me - but WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought of you as I signed up for the race this morning (I had seen your thread about trying to register and get home and trying to figure out the logistics) so I wanted to say hi, welcome home and I hope you got registered - I'm in for the quarter iron (my first race of that distance and second race ever). Hope to see you there! :-)

I'm in for the Aquabike on Sunday, possibly the sprint on Saturday as well if I smoke some crack decide it's a good idea to do both.

Texas Two Step, baby! Great name choice for this option by Keith.

Come on, Bill, man up. Sprint on Saturday, half on Sunday. All the cool kids are doing it. You'll even save yourself $20 over doing the sprint and aquabike.
